I've put some nests in the Tanera exhibition, and I realise I'm far from being alone as a human nest builder -
This stunning (and presumably strong) artist-made nest is by Benjamin Verdonck.

If you visit his site to enjoy the  journey, you might possibly need to be a bit patient with the technology. It's worth it though. Do lots of inquisitive clicking along the way.

Ingredients for this recipe are:
  • cartridge paper
  • quink ink (must be a washable variety of ink anyway)
  • sandpaper to rub  back the surface after drying
  • a pointy stick, or an old brush
  • household bleach
...and off you go drawing. Maybe wear goggles if you are going wild with it.

The area where the bleach hits turns a beautiful golden colour. The turquoise in the drawing above was a layer of acrylic ink, added to see if it bleached. It didn't.
